About the Role: BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled
Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (Maintenance Design) to join our growing team. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in maintenance derivation and Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), you'll play a vital role in delivering Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) solutions to the highest standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely while contributing to cutting-edge engineering projects that shape the future of defence.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and deliver maintenance derivation and Logistic Support Analysis outputs.
- Provide expert technical guidance on ILS activities, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Defence (MoD) and industry standards.
- Interface with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to support maintenance design activities.
- Develop and deliver Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies and schedules, ensuring alignment with DEFSTAN 00-045 and BR1313A methodologies.
- Support Engineering Design Reviews and initiate amendments for maintenance resulting from design changes.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the engineering team.
What We're Looking For: - Extensive knowledge of RCM activities, ILS, and Safety, with a strong understanding of AR&M principles.
- Familiarity with MoD tools such as UMMS and Trilogy.
- Demonstrated experience across the engineering lifecycle and lifecycle phase support.
- Background as a submarine nuclear operator or maintainer (essential).
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience (Chartered Engineer status preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities.
